Can MRI Predict Perforator Stroke Progression?

Investigators evaluate multisequence imaging for its ability to identify patients at risk for neurologic progression.

A multiparameter MRI-based radiomics model has been developed to predict progressive neurologic deterioration in patients suffering from subacute ischemic perforator artery cerebral infarction. This model demonstrates enhanced predictive performance with an area under the curve of 0.844 in a training cohort of 131 patients and 0.824 in a validation cohort of 57 patients. The study, led by Wenjing Yu from The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, utilized radiomic features extracted from multiple imaging sequences to achieve a significant prediction of clinical symptom progression.
